Back to Basics: Make a Den
There are as many ways of making a den as there are kids to make them, and it’s a great way to pass an afternoon, whatever the weather. Here are some ideas to get you started:
- The wet weather one: Make a blanket fort in your house using bed linen, cardboard boxes and dining chairs. Get some den-spiration.
- The outdoor one: Pick a tree and build your den around it with branches and twigs. Release your inner Bear Grylls with this tutorial.
- The frozen one: Chill bedsheets in the fridge then tuck them under the base of a fan and turn it on to inflate the structure. Take ice lollies inside and cool off! Find a delicious & incredibly virtuous ice lolly recipe here.
- The grown up one: Build a den from the books you don’t have time to read anymore and climb in it on your own with a large glass of your favourite plonk 😉 Start planning your child-free hideout.
