Scavenger Hunt

Organise a scavenger hunt

A scavenger hunt is easy to organise and will keep kids busy for hours. You can make up your own or use one of these tried-and-tested ideas:

  • For the littlest ones: Just because they’re small doesn’t mean they can’t scavenge too. Try this original sound scavenger hunt everyone can enjoy.
  • The pre-schoolers: How about an alphabet scavenger hunt? This is a great one to be done in the house on those rainy nothing-to-do days. Task each child with finding one thing in the house for each letter of the alphabet. Great entertainment and educational too!
  • The more independent ones: Organise a photo scavenger hunt. Older children can be allowed to roam (e.g. around the park) to take pictures of the things on their list.
  • A family hunt: If you’re thinking of taking a family walk in the woods, turn it into a scavenger hunt. Try this great printable nature idea hunt and get everyone involved.

We’d love to hear about your ideas. Let us know how you get on in the comments and inspire other parents!
