The Local Edit: Secret Garden
This is a relatively new addition to my go-to list of local places. If you haven’t been before, or even if you have, stick it on your ‘to do’ list this week!
Where: Tapper Walk, N1C 4AQ London. Nearest tube: King’s Cross
What: This moveable and edible garden is the perfect location to make the most of a sunny afternoon and learn about plant and food growing. The garden is totally sustainable as waste products from the building are used as planters. It’s a lovely charming place to visit with the kids, who will love the wild flowers, vegetables, beehives and chicken coops..
Extras: Free Family Saturdays are running from 23 July to 1 October from 2-4pm. They include delicious homemade snacks plus plenty of gardening, cooking and crafts activities. You can book by emailing [email protected].
Make a day of it: Meet some friends and grab a bite at the Skip Garden Kitchen café, which offers fresh, tasty and seasonal food from the organic garden or just enjoy a relaxing cup of coffee whilst the kids help to water the plants.
